Halfshells - Federal Dyer 3-inch caliber projectile case-shot

The Federal Dyer 3-inch caliber projectile was manufactured in both common shell and case-shot.  The pictured case-shot Dyer projectile contains lead balls in a sulphur matrix, which is typical of the 3-inch caliber Dyer projectile.   The Dyer projectile was not manufactured after 1862.
