Great Britain Whitworth 6.4 in. Shell (p. 217)

A typical large caliber Whitworth projectile for a gun that saw very limited use.  This pictured projectile is located in the West Point Military Academy Museum, New York.  A few were recovered from a Blockade Runner near Fort Fisher, North Carolina.
