US Hotchkiss 30-pounder Percussion Shell (p. 118)

Although fitted with a percussion fuze this specimen is, from its weight, could be a case shot, or has lead balls with the bursting charge.  The fuze is larger than the field caliber Hotchkiss percussion fuze; 7/8 of an inch across the top.  This specimen was recovered from the 1863 siege of Port Hudson, Louisiana.
