Air-bursting Parrott
Parrott case shot applied the Parrott driving system to an antipersonnel projectile. It held a load of balls around a bursting charge, and a time fuze burst it in the air so the balls carried forward over the target beyond the reach of canister.
It retained the expanding base sabot of the Parrott line, and surviving examples are identified by that sabot together with the internal balls and matrix when the body is broken.
